Engaged Encounter
What is Engaged Encounter?
The Engaged Encounter is a weekend experience where couples planning marriage have the time to concentrate on each other, free from the tensions, pressures, and interruptions of daily life.
It is designed to give couples an opportunity to talk deeply about their future life together, self-identity, role expectations, money, sex, children, and family are discussed. A vital part of the weekend is learning better communication skills.

Who is Engaged Encounter for?
Couples of any age that are committed to marry in the Catholic Church and are mature enough to believe that their relationship can become even better will benefit. The Engaged Encounter is one of the instructional programs for marriage preparation sponsored by the Dioceses of Amarillo.

Whether this is your first marriage or not, young or old, this weekend is meant to assist you in understanding the Sacrament of Marriage and a time of reflection. All who come with an open mind and an open heart will come away from the weekend with a little more understanding of themselves and their fiancés.

If you have any difficulty with payment, please ask your pastor, we don’t want money to keep you and your fiancé away from this beautiful weekend experience.

Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center
